All the information, settings and tips to perform on the Brignoles track

1. General Information

Name: Brignoles Circuit (often called Var Circuit )
Address: Quartier de Paris, 83170 Brignoles, France

History & Driving Style
Located in the heart of the Var region, the Brignoles circuit is renowned for its fast and flowing layout , alternating between long, sweeping corners and technical sections. Highly regarded in Rotax, OK/OKJ, and KZ karts , it rewards clean driving, precise lateral grip management , and good braking stability . The high speeds make precise racing lines essential.

2. Rules & Security

  • Full fairings and bumpers are mandatory (FFSA regulations).

  • Silencer and intake filter compliant with noise standards .

  • Technical inspection possible before driving.

  • Approved helmet (CMR/CMS for youth) and cervical collar mandatory in youth categories.

Tip: always check the ASK Brignoles internal regulations before the season, adjustments are frequent.

3. Tire & Adjustment Guide

Recommended pressures (cold)

Brand / Type Pressure (bar) Terms
MOJO D5 0.60 – 0.65 Rotax base – regular heating
VEGA XH3 (Green) 0.55 – 0.60 Very stable on rubberized surfaces
VEGA M1 (Yellow) 0.90 – 1.05 Soft tire – cool weather
LeCont Prime / SVB 0.70 – 1.00 Longevity, progressive grip
MG Yellow / SM 0.55 – 0.70 KZ – beware of overheating

Rain pressures

Increase the values by +0.10 to +0.20 bar to promote temperature rise and limit aquaplaning.
Example: MOJO D5 → 0.70 to 0.75 bar when cold under heavy rain.

Advanced tips

  • Target tire temperature: 55°C to 70°C depending on the tire compound.

  • +0.05 bar at the front to ensure safe rapid braking.

  • 3-point pyrometer (internal/central/external) for balancing the chassis.

  • If the rear wheel "greases" when exiting large curves: -0.05 bar or slightly open the rear track .

4. Chassis & Transmission Settings

  • Front track: wide = high-speed stability; narrow = more precise steering.

  • Rear track: slightly open for traction when exiting long curves.

  • Camber: slightly negative in dry conditions; more neutral in the rain.

  • Front bar: remove it in cold weather to gain grip.

  • Rotax (carburetor): adjusts the jet according to the temperature (moderate altitude in Brignoles).

Brignoles tip: fast track → favour a rather rigid chassis and slightly lower pressures than your standard to avoid overheating on the rear during prolonged cornering.

5. Weather conditions & influence

  • Fresh morning: high mechanical grip → slightly lower pressures.

  • Hot afternoon: soft tires overheat quickly → harder grip.

  • Rubberized track: increases rigidity and brakes later.

  • Frequent wind: adjust your braking points and check the pressures when hot.

6. Practical information for pilots

  • License: FFSA required

  • Paddock opening: usually from 8:30 am

  • Fuel: SP98 recommended

  • Average temperatures: ~8–12 °C winter / up to 35 °C summer

  • Surface: abrasive asphalt, good drainage

  • Clubhouse: available (snack bar, terrace)
